Throughout my 28-year technology career. I’ve always focused on a few principles. These principles allow me to walk with integrity, not as a businessman. But as a human “a man”, a leader. That is be humble, treat others fairly, be willing to learn, and work hard with your actions, not your words. To prove your worth to any individual, organization, or corporation. To work to manage technical staff who are smarter than you are, at what they do. But provide the leadership that will bring out the best in each of them, for your employer and their future. I didn’t wait for someone else to tell me that I earned my stripes. I earned them by my work ethic, and set my own standards. I didn’t develop my managing style after anyone, because I wanted to be true to my own strengths.
